Brigid's
Knot is named after the Celtic Triple Goddess Brigid.
Her name is spelled in many ways; Brighid, Brigit, Bridget, Brigid, and Brid.
The Irish pronunciation is (Breet). Brigid was the most beloved
Celtic Goddess of her Pagan followers. She was the daughter of "The Dagda"
the
great father-god of Ireland. In Greek Mythology, the triple-goddess
symbolizes maiden, mother and crone, or the three stages of a woman's life.
Brigid is called a "Triple-Goddess" because of her three distinct
groups of attributes.
Celtic myth tells us there were three sisters, all named Brigid,
who later became known collectively as "The Goddess Brigid".
As a sun Goddess, she is a powerful, strong, and active force.
She is the "Fire of the Forge" goddess of metal-smithing and craftsmanship;
"Fire of the Hearth"goddess of Healing, Fertility, Family, and Childbirth;
and "Fire of Inspiration" goddess of poetry, wisdom, and culture.
Brigid came into being at daybreak, rising into the sky with the Sun,
beams of fire flowing from her head. She brings gifts of light through, inspiration,
knowledge, and healing. In Druid Mythology, it's said that the infant goddess
was fed
with milk from sacred cows and whereupon she walked, flowers and shamrocks
appeared.
We celebrate this Goddess on the feast day known as, Imbolc. At the beginning
of February,
we welcome the lengthening days and the coming of Spring.
We honor the Goddess and her sacred fire; as Healer,
to spark and balance our energies; as muse, to spark our creative processes;
as metal smith,
to spark the glowing forge which enables our crafts to come to light.
Brigid's Knot was created in honor of this Goddess and Saint.
It is made up of three trefoil knots, symbolizing three-as-one.
The three knots form into a triquetra, or triangle, representing the triple-goddess.
The downward-pointing triangle is a symbol of the female yoni,
where all of creation begins.
Wear Brigid's Knot to Honor the Goddess and bring
Positive Energy, Harmony, and Creativity into your Hearth and Home!

Warrior's
Shield
This
Shield of protection is a Celtic design based on the numbers 3 and
4,
which enable magical powers to come into play that help provide circles
of protection and other
important esoteric forces to enhance well being.
The
central design in this work is a Quatrefoil composed of 4 circles
interlocked into magical Celtic Knots.
These circles are constructed by using the 4 corners of a square as
the center points of the circles.
They repesent the four corners of the Earth, the 4 winds, the 4 elements:
earth, air, water, and fire.
Most importantly these points represent the 4 angelic guardians.
The quatrefoil is a symbol of good luck as in the 4-Leaf clover.
One of several world symbols, this design is where the 4 realms of
North, South, East,
and west are joined and the 4 elemental angelic guardians bring protection
to those who wear this amulet.
Also
in this design, the ancient Celts included the magical trinity of
interlocking rings of 3.
Captured at the edge of the mail quatrefoil are 4 sets of 3 interlocking
circles. 3 is a symbol of luck and invokes the 3 fates.
Circles overlapping creates a "Triple Vesica" bringing perfection
in thought, word and deeds,
as well as helping find love, enhance power, and bring wisdom. The
Magic of 2 is assimilated in the legend of
St. Patrick as the magical shamrock, and of course manifest in the
Christian Trinity.
May
the wearing of this amulet bring protection from harm and all evil
influences as well
as all the other marvelous magic of this powerful symbol.

The Triscele of Dana
Designed
by Chris Bennet
exclusively for Pepi and Company
The natural direction of life is that of the Spiral,
a balanced, continuous movement winding towards the Cosmic or Spiritual
Center.
The Spiral was a Sacred Symbol to all Ancient peoples.
It demonstrated the Eternal Rhythm of Life. The Triple Spiral design
is unique
to the Celtic peoples. This ancient design adorns their most Sacred
places
and represents the Trinity of Life in its many forms i.e. Body, Mind,
and
Spirit. Most significantly, it represents the Goddess of Her matriarchal
people in her forms of Maiden, Mother, and Old Wise Woman. The one
continuous line of the Triscele interlaces within itself representing
the
"Thread of Life" woven by the "Three Fates."
Our Spiral symbolizes the Eternal Path of one's undying Spirit through
the course
of life, death, andrebirth. Following the spiral path can induce a
meditative state
leading to transcendence from the mundane to the spiritual!
Artist Chris Bennett writes: "Across the mists of time and throughout
many civilizations, the number three has been a powerful icon. To
the
pre-Celtic people of Ireland, the Tuatha de Danann, all forms of life
go
through three stages. The first stage starts with the Creation of
each
"spark" of Life. From the moment of birth, each Soul experiences
the same
trials and suffering of every plant and animal. Each spark is reborn
from
one shell to the next, going through all life situations until it
reaches a
state of "ALBRED" and is ready for the second stage, the
human experience.
Within this stage all facets of human life are explored and understood,
as
the soul is reborn countless times. This cycle continues until the
spark
reaches "GWYNFYD" or "purity". The ancient bards
defined this state as "life
manifested as a pure rejoicing force having attained its triumph over
"Evil." Like all rivers reaching the sea, the Soul will
eventually reach the
third stage of life, called "CEUGANT". Within this cycle
the soul becomes
Pure Consciousness and merges with the Universe."
The design style of this "Danna's Triad" is called "vegetal"
as it is
composed of stylized vines and leaves. This design is based on one
found on
a bronze relic called a horn cap (the handle on a chariot or saddle)
which
was found in the Thames river and dates to about the fourth century
B.C.
Symbolically, the vegetal style reminds us to respect nature and all
forms
of life therein. This emblem helps the wearer remember that every
plant,
animal and being encountered is the housing for a Soul on its path
towards
the Enlightenment.

The
Fairy Shield
Designed by Linda S. Holler
exclusively for Pepi and Company
All women are representations of the Triple-Goddess, no matter which
face we choose to show to the world. We have a symbiotic relationship
with the
Goddess from the moment of our birth. The Triple Goddess imagery of
maiden, mother,
and crone has been present in many cultures, but was solidly honored
by the Celtic peoples.
The Goddesses worshipped by the Celts are said to belong to a race
known
as the Tuatha De Danann, or "people of the Goddess Dana."
Celtic myth tells us the Tuatha De Danann employed their Magick to
shield
themselves from earthly strife and chose to reside in the spiritual
realm,
or Faery kingdoms of Ireland. "The Celtic Faery Shield"
is a symbol
of this very powerful, Goddess inspired Magick.
The Faery Shield is a symbol of the trinity of the Divine Feminine.
It is made up of three interlaced Vesica Piscis which represent the
"yoni" or female genitals.
The gateless design prevents the entrance of negative energies.
It is furthered strengthened by the Circle; the primary feminine symbol
representing sacred space.
This symbol of the three yonis was called the triquetra by the Celts.
The Celts honored the number three and its connection to the Goddess.
We honor the Virgin Goddess for coming of age, making life changes,
and new beginnings.
We honor and petition the Mother Goddess when we wish to become pregnant,
are ready to give birth, and to bless the newborn and all other children
and grandchildren.
We honor the Crone for our celebrations of menopause, transformation,
deep wisdom, and the ending of relationships.
Wear the Faery Shield to honor the Celtic woman within you:
"she recognizes her spiritual links to all living things. Her
true weapons are her wisdom
and self-confidence. Her strength is in her willingness to learn and
grow.
Her inner peace comes from her sense of place in creation, and her
recognition that she
carries a spark of the Goddess within her at all times."
